Father's Day 2011

Today is Father's Day and as we celebrate our fathers may we celebrate in a fun way and stay eco friendly as well.   So forget the tie and think about some Organic Wine or Beer- hey he may even share it with you!  A real practical idea for your dad the gardener may be a composter which will help any garden thrive. A hammock is also a nice gift and you can find them made from recycled material.  Our local store, Peaceful Parlour, has just this item!  I remember my dad in the hammock trying his best to relax with us climbing on top of him.

You could always clean his grill for him with some non-toxic grill cleaners.  This way the nice piece of fish, fresh veggies or sirloin steak will not be contaiminated with any residue from the bad cleaners you may have used.

No matter what you do on this day give your old Dad a hug and tell him you love him, that is what I am going to do!

Poem for Father's

We may not shower him with praise
Nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget
The joy he spreads as he goes along,
Bu tit doesn’t mean that we don’t know
The wonderful role that he has had.
And away down deep in every heart
There’s a place that is just for Dad.
